I have yet to take a very long trip and doubt I ever will. I'm more of a day trip cruise the back roads and explore kind of guy. Home by dark. I don't like riding at night. But now with a goldwing that might change as longer rides are comfortable and it's possible to carry some stuff.

some two lanes roads can be just as boring as being on the slab so in that case i'll take the road that gets me there the fastest. I was down in Marietta, oh. last month with a group of 39 wingers ( riders and passengers ), we decided to ride part of the 555. I was sooo bored that I rode 2/3 of it standing up

That's like 15 north to Vegas. Between fighting the flat desert boredom and watching for drivers weaving in and out 20 mph faster than the others, it's a grueling trip.

Really like the triple nickle myself, pick it up just south of Zanesville, great scenery, & road. Southern portion, is not as enjoyable, but still a nice day's ride, take the highway home, most times if i ride to the river.

Rode AZ 89 between Wickenburg and Prescott yesterday. Yarnell Hill. It had been a while. I've been on a lot of good cycling roads. That one ranks right up there. Let's just say that if it had been dark, the ole Valk would've been throwing sparks.
