yhis a common thing ...alot of people have trouble getting the belts tansion right ...... oh2: the proper procedeger is ....once you the belt time right the motor need to be to the nuetral possition ...where there is no tension from the valve springs working on the cam ...cam is free...this is where you can get the spring tensioner to tension belt right ...the spring in the belt tensioners is way smaller than valve springs and cant fight that to put proper tension on :mrgreen:
its seems half the oldwing motors are this way ...with right side belt way loose....seems like about 25% of the time th timing is one tooth off ....
with the belts looking like that ...is a sure sign its been changed before...
changing belts is dangerous to the health of a health oldwing go slow ask many good and stupid question ...to make sure you dont mess up ....post things your going to do so it can address before something gose wrong....good luck ....it dont take much to jar timing off on the side with loose belt and trash a motor cause the belt was put on wrong :mrgreen:
