Lowering the front decreases rake and that increases response. Good you found a setup that works for you. It's all about the ride. :good: :yes:

Vetter fairing Joe! The distance inside the fairing to the forks doesn't change. The triple tree is essentially the same distance all around from the sides of the fairing, just lower.
 
I lowered my 77 1" in the front and 2" in the rear. I loosened the triple trees on the front and I bumped the fork tubes up by tapping the bottoms with a rubber mallet. I ordered the shorter shocks from Ebay for about $90 including shipping. They needed some persuading. After an hours work I am very happy with the results. Handling is the same and there is plenty of ground clearance. Im short and and I like the results.
