:0fftopic: A little warning this is my first bike and my mechanical expertise on the engine is I have taken it out before. besides that i am of the thinking that nothing can't be put back together with some luck or better yet photos of the destructing process :smilie_happy:

Alright so I have a 77 GL1000 and a 84 GL1200
I am taking the heads and the cams off of the 1000 and putting it on the 1200 engine and putting that in the frame of the 77 and possibly taking the front end off of the 1200 and putting it on the 1000....now I won't start the tear down and the rebuilding till the winter but I would really like to be able get an attack plan and possibly make a new wiring harness by then. I'd love any recommendations. Also I am thinking bout upgrading my lighting systems.....for some reason i feel if its a hotter lighter maybe just maybe I won't get hit :)

So by all mean let the phone begin........

the 1200 front end is good move ...and is pretty much plug and play ...except for gauges an all mounting right .....as for wiring the 1200 has cluster of wires for gear lights and all plus nutruel light i still dont have that figure yet ....so wiring is a deal ... but i think if it was me id be in motor mods now ...
