The mirrors on my 1100 are in great shape. I am not sure if they are OM or not, but they will not stay in place. It is not enough that I "have" to replace them but enough that it is irritating. I seem to remember from an old 1100 I had that the face of the mirrors come off if the black seal strip is removed and there is a nut in there, but I'm not sure, and I'm not sure if I want to take it off and not get it back on right.

Is there something that I can put in the pivot points? Any suggestions?

On my '81 Interstate, I just remove them from the fairing (2 large Phillips screws) and there's a nut and spring to tension the mirror neck to the base. I've got mine socked down as tight as they go and one still drifts a little bit in the wind. I disassembled it and cleaned all the surfaces which made it better but not perfect. I kind of set it out farther and try to get it to drift into place  Good luck!

Exactly.

Mine drift a bit too, thinking of removing the screw and adding a washer or two to give the spring a little more tension, I think the aftermarket ones have something like a screw but it doesn't have a slot like a normal crew but it may unscrew like a screw, in that case I would find a regular screw to replace it with..

i got brutal to mine ...put a self tapping screw through the hardware ...it dosnt slip anymore ar all LOL
I drilled one of mine all the way through to the top and ran a tap afterward. The screw stuck out of the top of the arm so I trimmed it off.....ran it in with a good coat of red LockTite. As for the upper swivel, I just give them a few drops of superglue once in awhile
