...But I'm thinking I'm going to leave signals off of mine. If I do put signals on it again one day, I think I might go with the little led bullets to keep the look as trimmed as possible. I have some sitting in the shop. Just not sure if I want them on there or not.

I did a kz1000 bobber without signals. It does look cleaner but I get paranoid about the cagers not understanding hand signals and riding at night when nobody can see my gloved hands. If you zoom in on my previous pic, you can see the 3/4" led bulbs I installed under my high beam for turn signals. Again, minimalistic but very bright.
I have 1/2 led bullets that I'm considering putting on. Or I might order the ones that I posted the link to. The hand signals do make me nervous at night.

I don't want to violate this forum's rules but I recently did what Mobtown said about switches inside the shelter. I put a main on/off switch under the locking lid, then a second on/off switch on top of the shelter with a start button at the right grip. This allows me to turn the bike on and off without opening the shelter but I still have the security of killing power behind the locked lid.

LED lighting is the way to go if not concerned about an original look. I use two 36W Cree headlights that individually only pull 3 amps! That's easy on the old charging system. A small resistor on the turn signal lines allows for all LEDs there, too.

 :good:

Well, Dan, they are extremely bright first of all. These particular models have four narrow "spot" bulbs in the center and four flood bulbs on each side of them. I must admit I haven't had the opportunity to drive at night yet. I did light them up across my yard to get an initial adjustment. The pattern on these is a very large circle from the floods and a smaller area that does reach out in front. How good the actual coverage of distant areas is yet to be seen. My slight apprehension is that my "low beam" (the top light pointing somewhat down in front of the bike) is going to prompt high beams from incoming traffic because they are so bright. The second lamp, high beam, is pointed pretty much horizontally and hurts my eyes when I look at it from 30 ft or so. Some experimentation ahead. I have played with heavy duty resistors and found I can dim the low beam to my liking if need be. Knowing what I know now, I would have purchased one of these for high beam and one of strictly spot beams for a low beam headlight.

How are those headlights in shining forward? Thinking one might be nice installed below my stock fairing headlight.

I got the headlights out on the road last night. I didn't get any high beams in protest of my low beam from oncoming traffic so that was good. Overall, they don't penetrate the distance like an ultra white halogen in a normal housing, but they also don't have any dark spots. They wash everything evenly. And they do a great job on the sides of the road where most of my threats crawl/run/leap/walk/slither/fly from. My assessment is they do a good job and I am keeping them on. :good:

I may have missed it, I will reread. But which lights did you use. From where, how much did they cost, and how did you connect into the stock wiring.

well then. Thanks so much.It should be here in a few days.I will hook it to a battery and post a picture of it working.

I bought a pair of lights off eBay with the white halo LEDs. They were listed for cars and I wanted to use one of them on my 1100 Suzuki. What I found was the notches on the backside of the rim that locate the housing into your bucket are different spacing from cars to bikes. I was still able to use it on the bike but it didn't lock in to the bucket like it should have. Just FYI.

with all custom applications that is routine things to do.worth it.

When it arrives will you measure across the lens for me. I'm hoping it's small enough to fit my car.
for sure.scheduled here 9/21/16

I have a nonwiring question. It is still 90 degrees every day.But someday it will be winter. Not like a winter up north.december 26th last year it was 76 and we had a tornado destroy a town. But, when it is cold, do you drian all the antifreeze,or just put new in or what? Temps range from 3 degrees to 110 here. But pretty much its and endless summer. We had no snow or ice last year. That suits me fine.

Good clean Antifreeze is important in any temp Bro, change it and tha thermostat, its cheap insurance. Also best check them hoses whilst yer at it .

Sounds like good advice.ive owned 3 1500 goldwings but not one of them in wintertime.thanks. :rocks:

(Antifreeze) also acts as a coolant in warm weather . It should be a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze and can be bought premixed also. Last but not least antifreeze helps prevent corrosion and leaks.
