that's right I took my longest ride ever today... on my 1200 wing :D
with the 1500 at mike's house to have new tires installed I didn't have a choice but to ride my 1200 wing. I was up and out early so I could get a sun rise pic. but as usual I forgot a few things and needed them before I could hit the road. from home I made my way west to m-39 and took it south until m-39 turns into southfield rd. then rode it until it ends at Jefferson rd. there is a park and restaurant just across the light so I pulled in the parking lot for this pic and the pic's of the fishermen ladys

looking out down southfield rd. the sky wasn't looking good. I made a left onto Jefferson rd. and rode down to wyandotte, mi. and made a stop at elezabeth park, looked like they just opened the gates so I looped the park and headed back to Jefferson rd. I stopped for gas then continued on. as I got to Gibraltar, mi the roads were wet, better the roads wet than me! I rode down to lake erie metro park but didn't enter cause I didn't want to spend $30 for an annual pass

I made a right on huron river rd. and took it to I-75, I headed south for Toledo, oh. why? because as long as I've owned it I had never crossed a state line on the 1200 wing that's why! I took I-280 east to oh-25 the took that to cherry st. now I'm in downtown Toledo. made a left on cherry st. crossed the bridge and made another left for a quick stop here just for the pic

I reversed course and made my way back to I-75 and exited at alexis rd. / 184 and took it west to Sylvania, oh. I took us-23 north back to Michigan, the boarder is about a mile away. I stopped at the welcome center in Dundee, mi and grabbed a couple of free pamphlets and took this pic

I got back on us-23 and exited at m-14, wouldn't be long now. as I passed Curtis rd. I looked left and saluted as I always do. I took I-96 east and exited at Schafer rd, form here its only a few miles home. so my longest ride on my 1200 wing totaled 159 miles

but wait it was only 10am when I got homeso I got out of motorcycle gear then I loaded the Schwinn tempo on the van and headed off to belle isle for my weekly ride around the island. once there I got the bike unloaded then went in search of a laker, can't leave the island without a pic of a laker! at first I thought I had missed it but then I said to myself " maybe that's a laker with the bridge in the front "
it was and I got my pic

the temp and humidity went up, should have filled my water bottle but after looping the island by bicycle I rode back to my van a different way which took me by the casino ( being renovated ) and the tennis courts, a young lady and her young daughters were out playing, I didn't want to make them nervous so I spoke and told them I was just going to take a couple pic's then made my way back to my van. I had my five gallon water cooler ( like the ones used at NFL football games ) on the van with me and some lemon aid mix, I made a couple bottles then loaded the bike back on the van then headed to mom's to do some chores. once done we chatted for awhile but the clouds were getting darker, I told mom I was heading home because I had left the wing uncovered so I came home and covered it but no rain yet

Nice day trip. Great pics. So how did the 1200 handle it's first out of state experience?
this wasn't the 1200's first trip out of state my niece has ridden it out of state several times and my GF has been to chicago at least four times on it, it was just the first time I've ever been out of state on it. the seat needs to be re-foamed and re-covered the alternator belt seems to be slipping but it ran great but to be honest I miss my 1500 wing

I've been trying to get out on the push bike three or four days a week. during the week I ride close to home, I have a three mile loop that I try and do twice and then on the weekend I head to belle isle cause it's on the way to mom's house
