Ok
need some help on this one...
I'v been out of cycleing for years.
Me and Wifey need some jackets and rain suits.

I'd like to hear you opinions and input.
we're leaning to jackets rather than leathers, and would like to match .
also looking for good suppliers (customer reccomended)

must be availible in plus sizes :)

Jim, I am also curious as to rain gear. I am looking for a set. I have been using my old fishermans gear from 1984 that I used when working on offshore clamming vessels. (Grundens oil skins) Heavy duty stuff! Just a little too heavy to keep in the trunk. The jacket and pants weigh in at about 5 lbs combined. I am looking for light weight yet not cheapo trash bag stuff.

I have the Tourmaster Intake Air Jacket. I really like it. It's a mesh jacket with a insulated liner and a rain liner. I'm in the Desert and it gets hot and I still wanted to be protected. I have ridden in the mid forties and it's fairly warm ( I was born and raised here in Southern Ca so I don't what cold is ;) ). https://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/catalog ... 269_3.html
If there are some shops around you where you can try them on you should. I'm a big guy and the Tourmaster fit me the best.

I haven't used them but one of the most popular rain gear are the Frog Togs. They are the ones I will get when I get rain gear. They are light and they breath so I hear the are comfortable. https://www.froggtoggsraingear.com/RoadToads.shtm

I got to old for the heavy black leather in the summer,so I bought a Joe Rocket with removable liner and zipper vents in a lighter grey color rather than black.I got it from GENES GALLERY.
As for rain gear, nother beats FROGG TOGGS.These things are awsome.Wind passes through, water does not.And they dry instantly.

Right now I am shopping for a mesh jacket for the hot days, and my trip to NC next month.

Here in michigan you need to carry three differant jackets with you. :smilie_happy:

I have a leather bomber jacket with a zip out fur liner and collar, but a couple of years ago I switched to a Tourmaster transition 2 jacket and this summer I plan on buying a Tourmaster flex Jacket and pants. For rain gear I use Tourmaster sentinal coat and pants.

I just got a joe rocket Golwing skyline jacket.. with removable rain cold liner.. I am xl in size and this is a nice snug fit.. We are getting up in temps out here in Texas and tonight it was 81 when I rode in 1 1/2 hours ago.. it is mesh with armor and runs about 200 and they have matching styles in men's and ladies.. I bought mine at a Honda dealer on sale and got a good deal on it.. I still run chaps.. and have a PVC rain suit.. but frogg toggs come highly recommended and are compact enough you can put 2 in the right glove box if needed...

My weather suit is out of production now (Spartan distributed by Tucker-Rocky). I went to the distributors site though and found these(above). They have a good size range.

After taking another look at the tag I found my suit was made for Fieldsheer, this may be just the ticket(again excellent size range)

I hope this helps, my suit is different(it cost $200 10 years ago) but the quality should be the same.
