My harbor freight trailer I took the leaf springs out except for one. I had used a cargo car top carrier on it and ran smooth.
Now that the whole trailer and camper weighs 440# empty, should I put some of the leaf springs back on the trailer?
I really do not know how this kind of thing works.
So I need your opinion.

Thank You

+1 on Joe's comment.

My 1/2 ton utility trailer (5'X8') has only one leaf spring and has been over-loaded many times during the 45 years I have had it without ill effects.

If it works good as is, don't mess with it.

The weight capacity of that trailer is 870 pounds according to HFs website. How many leaf springs did the trailer originally come with? If the trailer came with 3 springs and you removed two and it now only has one and the empty weight is 440#, I think any additional weight will quickly show that it will be over weight and handle poorly.
