Just got into goldwings this year and loving it. purchased a running but dirty 81 gl 1100 got it home and decided to make a super sport in honor of my old 82 cb900f. I have to say the wing handles better and is way more comfortable than the cb. Can't wait to build another one.

Welcome to the CGW Forums, hoffnasty !!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
PICS!! :beg:

Here are some pictures if I can figure this out.
I stripped off the vetter and all the running boards, must have lost 200lbs . then I cut off the fender and used a 79 parts bike for the foot pegs and smaller metal front fender. The seat was a mustang (ugly couch looking thing) so I peeled off the cover, shortened the pan and stole my wifes electric knife. With the help of a belt sander the foam took on a Corbin gun fighter look. I had the local upholstery shop cover it with a carbon fiber look. They said I did a decent job of shaping the foam. Next I sanded down all the skins and base coated it with charcoal gray and a clear. I cut off the exhaust where the tips meet the muffler and painted high heat black over the pipe and headers. Next came polish and paint to the engine. Lastly I put shinko sport tires on and cleaned the carbs and changed the oil. I swapped the 150 mph speedo off of the 79 since the bike easily goes past the 85 limit mark. ( thanks Jimmy Carter for the 55 stay alive crap). I need to change the timing belts and maybe sync the carbs, but it is running better and better the more I run it.

few more pics, I am not computer savvy yet. I want a cafe fairing next and paint to match. My klr 650 is starting to look like a fully dressed street bike. stole the backrest from the goldwing.

I loved my 900f it just seemed taller leaning into corners, but that was back before I was fearless.

the 1100 wing has a lower seat hight than my 750's or your 900f but the 1100 has less ground clearance and even for the times the 750's and 900f had a stiffer frame and about 80lbs less ( nakked 1100 ) to carry around

Welcome to the forums.

I'd like more details on the mufflers, what they are from, how it sounds, and what you had to do to mount them.
They look great!

Ditto on what Dan said on the pipes and welome from N.Western, Pa. :hi:
Let us know how that paint holds up on them pipes :good: :good: :good:

Welcome aboard. I bet your technical advisor there was a big help. Fine looking bikes.

Thats my sisters kid, After he pretended for hours the bike was a little flooded. Good thing our bikes have a fuel pump instead of gravity or my tank would have been empty into the crankcase.

The muffler is stock 1981, I used a fine took hacksaw to cut the pipes just before the extension tip. I was worried about fuel air mixture after but there is still the main muffler attached. The tip must have been a extra attachment to really make the wing quiet. It sounds awesome like a four-into-one header from a cb or gs 1100. I don't know if I gained power but the bike will wheelie in first. I left the mufflers on when I cut off the tips.

Did you save the tips by chance?? I would be interested in buying them! (With the baffles inside them)
