Yes William, I've been running an ad on CL for the last couple of months that I do alternator conversions. In fact I've got two in my shop right now. I've done alot of these using Don's kit with a few additional tweeks to the job. You can't beat the finished results in my opinion. I've got an '84 Interstate on the table right now that I'm doing the alt. conversion on. I'll take some pictures and see if I can figure out how to put them on the site.
As far as idle output... almost everyone I've done using the Nippondenso 55amp. alternator, I'm consistantly seeing 14.2-14.5 @ idle speed.
