Tough but Fair!!
Thank you Tony, that's high praise.

I got a 3hp on 240Volt over here in the UK 13CFM but I only have a 50Ltr can, I would love something bigger just no where to put it, mine just gets under a computer table I have here so it is sort of out the way, but that vertical one is even better take up a very small footprint in any shop.

Has any one given thought to using a GL1000 engine as a compressor, take everything out of the crank case except the crankshaft and the pistons, figure a way to get the compressed air into a big can, could drive it of a pulley attached to the crank at the timing belt side. I bet that would provide some air?

Cool idea!

Why not do it like the VW based ones Ian, 2cyl runs the other 2cyls as the compressor part which needs reed valves etc to work.

You can't beat a good electric compressor. Old 15cfm in the house shed ( it was rebuilt when I bought it in 1991), a 25cfm 3 phase on my big shed ( scored for $400 aud from a business bust up) and a cheap Chinese 8 cfm? that is small enought to drag around in the car when I need it elsewhere that was an insurance replacement.

I just popped it up there as an idea, using a VW is also good. And on the plus side it's air cooled so no water involved......
Any way I am away to my bed. as it is now 01:16 here on a Tuesday morning.
