I've been hanging around here for a couple of months and finally decided to join the fun. Although I ride a GL1800 (2003) I used to own a late '70s model Wing. Didn't keep it very long. Probably should have my head examined for letting it go. Would have been a nice project bike to restore to original. Mechanics is not my strong suit though. Changing oil and washing the bike is about as far as I get. Although I did take mine down to the starter and had it rebuilt and reinstalled it on my own. (Too cheap to let the stealership do it. I had a ride coming up shortly and didn't want to miss it.) Everything went well and now I'm a little over 118k on my wing.
I have a good friend on here who has several vintage Wings he has fixed up. Howdy, Houndhead!!!
Looking forward to some good times and good rides this year.

I just noticed in my profile I've been a member of this site since last Feb. My how time flies. Sorry it took me so long to post something. I guess I got too busy.

Welcome to the discourse! Maybe you'll find another oldwing to play with. Most here aren't mechanics by trade but know a good bit.

Welcome, I'm from Fairfield also. There are a lot of guys on here that will answer just about any question. Maybe we can ride sometime.

Welcome to CGW. The old wings are readily available and simple to work on. You should pick one up and get a set of wrenches and just dive in. There is no substitute for experience and the guys on this forum will not let you fail...
