Been trying to search the forum here and it`s such a vague term I come up with too much of nothing.
I bought the 3 for $12 of the HiFlo purplish paper filters off ebay when I first got my bike running, just bought them because I knew I would be doing a 500 mile and 1000 mile oil change at first, now I am coming up for a 3k Change, I seem to recall Fram not recommended, maybe I remember wrong and maybe the HiFlo filter is good.
I just don't want the paper or glue failing and of course good filtering, see Emgo but with their fuel filters failing I don't feel comfortable with anything Emgo.
Thanks.

Thanks Brian,Dan..I thought it was strange about Fram, I have been using them on my car for years, thought maybe they outsourced their M/C filters or something.

I've been using the HiFlo filters on mine since I've had it with no problems. I gets them from a local bike parts place. My local NAPA place never has them in stock, but they can get them same day if needed. :good:

I use fram for the first running or cleaning out stage 100 to 500 miles, then i go back with a wix 24940 for the extended life, comes with the o rings too.

+1 on the Wix

+2 on the WIX. Been using them on my other rigs for a long time. Just picked up a 24940 for the Oldwing at O'Reilly Auto Parts for a little over $6. :music:

I wonder if any of they can look up a part number without asking me what kind of vehicle first, I know what they will say when I tell them its a motorcycle.

Fram oil filters have gotten a bad rap but I've been using them for 30+ years no problem.

Have used Fram oil filters on bikes, + cars & never had any issues. Switched to Wix, years ago always heard good things about their high quality, being better, & not much more cash, from a lot of people. Really love the Randaks oil filter adapter to switch to spin on filters, which is one of the most commonly used. Now only 2 types of spin on filters for ALL my vehicles, the same filters for my Honda cars, fit my 91 Wing, been using them for 20+ years. Should be filters a plenty all my life.
