Number of teeth in the belt doesn't change the ratio any more than number of links in a chain. It is number of teeth in drive pully to number of teeth in driven pulley. Just use a belt that reaches properly and perhaps add a second idler to get timing exact.
 
if the number was 1 tooth bigger or smaller , then the timing would not stay the same , it would be gaining or loosing with each round , and in nothing flat it wouldn't run , and the valves would hit the pistons , I Think. :swoon:
