I just picked up a 2000 Valkyrie that has been setting a few years because of no spark. I'm finding it is much easer to find Goldwing parts than Valktrie parts. Although they have different part numbers, will a 1500 Goldwing pulse generator fit a Valkyrie?

Check the a parts fiche for looks, and then the part number. If the first 5 digits are the same, probably a good fit. The second 3 letters/digits are for the model, and the last three digits are generally the manufacturer. Honda did us all a favour by using similar specs for these items.

Make sure the wiring colour code is correct, Honda doesn't generally change colour codes but does change the connectors. I fund this out when I replaced the speed sensor on my '85 Limited Edition to one from a 2007 Honda. The new speed sensor had a female connector, whereas the old one had a male connector, wiring colour code the same.

A 1500 PG sensor works on a GL1200 - had one on my '85 Limited Edition for a while, some modification needed to mount but worked well. Look at a picture to determine if the sensor looks the same for mounting. If it comes with two sensors and you only need one, remove the second one. Once installed no one is the wiser.

Goos luck
