Question for the 'Puter Geeks

I managed to change the program used to MS Word, so I can open some of them. I still need to check a few more that are still mysteries... What the heck is a RAR File (.rar) ???

There might be something wrong with that hard drive, they don't get much more than warm to the touch normally.

A rar file is a zipped file, just not zipped up with WinZip. You need Winrar to extract the contents.

Dan, this drive got pretty dang hot..hot enough that I couldn't touch it, after running for 10 minutes or so. Of course, there's no fan on it, either...matter-o-fact, it doesn't even have a bottom cover on it, and that's how it came out of the puter.
I got everything I needed off of it, anyway. I'm still gonna stick it back into the tower, and do a restore. I'll see how it works from there.
Now I have to get the IDE drive out of my other other 'puter, and get the goodies off of it!
