Replacement rear shocks

I'd like to replace my oem rear shock with non-air. Progressive Suspension 412-4222C seemed to be the way to go, but when I clicked "see compatible vehicles" and inputted my '81 Interstate, it came back as incompatible. Can anybody help clarify and get me pointed in the right direction? Thanx, Dave

Those should be the right ones. If you go to Progressive's website it doesn't even ask what submodel. Here's another page that definitely lists them as compatible. https://www.ridersdiscount.com/progress ... 22c-648457

So they're replaced and a real improvement, but the low air light is on. Ground the wire or cut the wire? Thanx, Dave

The sensor was under the right side cover, with a single wire. I forgot if I left it swinging or what.

The wire is under the right side cover at the valve where the air is added for the shocks. I pulled the wire out of the bullet connector, added another connector on the end and grounded it to the frame under the bolt that holds the valve.

Thanks, been riding with that tape over that lite for years, had the local Honda shop look at it many years ago and since it was so old they didn't have any idea what to do to solve the problem, the small bike shop that does my work now didn't have any idea either, gonna give this trick a try
