Road Trip: KY to AK and back

My wife and I were just in the Yukon in May - we really enjoyed it (10 days) as well. Dawson City and Whitehorse.
As far as suspension goes; I think I'll have to commit to the Progressive springs at both ends before I take off - seems to be the way to go.

My wife and I made a run to Alaska summer before last. We got some advise from an Alaskan rider that served us VERY well. Do not pass up an OPEN gas station. A lot of the fuel stops shut down early, some are out of business, one we got to about 5:30 one evening just as the proprietor was leaving....for a three week vacation.

We always kept the top half full, which in a couple of spots made for short rides between leg stretches. That suited us fine, as we are in the 'enjoy the ride' group rather than the go-to-get-there group. We traveled on some "interesting" road in spots, but had no tire problems of any kind. We, of course, only ran to and from Washington state, and NOT Kentucky. That will be an amazing trip!! Enjoy.
