julimike54 - thanks for following. Think I have figured out your monicker. '54 - good year for me, born in September.

Thanks to my other loyal followers as well: Dusterdude, theailer, mcgovern61, and of course Dan - maybe not on this thread, but the others.

Thinking about what I have posted and I still have some questions regarding the TS software. Not everything I mentioned is perfectly clear. There will probably be follow up posts as I get more information on some of the features/functions such as Local Auxiliary Input Channel Configuration. Thinking I have to use this feature to connect a second O2 sensor to the ECU and use TS to capture the data.

Very quiet on the forum threads.

I mentioned that I may post additional information regarding some of the features/functions. I have been looking into Squirts Per Engine cycle. Injector staging is interrelated.

The number of squirts per engine cycle is self-explanatory. The ECU fires the fuel injectors the number of times specified for the specific fuel injector staging, and for an engine cycle of 720 degrees.

The Required Fuel (RF) is calculated from the data input and is an approximation of the required fuel for 100% VE and 100 kPa at WOT - full power.

The calculated RF fuel injector pulse width is for one squirt per engine cycle, and is adjusted based on engine inputs. Two squirts per engine cycle using fuel injector staging of Alternating, the RF stays the same, but the fuel injector pulse width is halved. Four squirts per engine cycle using fuel injector staging of Alternating, the fuel injector pulse width is halved. Using Simultaneous fuel injector staging, 2 squirts per engine cycle and the fuel injector pulse width is halved, four squirts per engine cycle and the fuel injector pulse width is quartered.

Fuel injector staging and Squirts per engine cycle are not used when sequential fuel injection is used. The squirts per engine cycle setting is "2" and this setting is converted into "1" squirt per engine cycle by the Speeduino engine tuning program.

The takeaway here is that Squirts Per Engine Cycle affects the fuel injector pulse width not the RF value as calculated.

Squirts Per Engine Cycle is an on going topic of discussion on the various forums. The requirement is to get the engine started so that the tuner can make adjustments to the VE (fuel) table so that a stable idle can be achieved. Once the engine idle is relatively stable, the tuner can experiment with the number of squirts per engine cycle, and whether alternating/simultaneous fuel injector staging is best for the engine. A recommended starting point is 2 squirts per engine cycle and alternating fuel injector staging.

Cheers
