Last summer my 13 year daughter and I went to Walmart, as we were walking in we heard two vehicles racing around the parking area, one guy was about 40 and has a rather large Van and the other guy was younger 20 in a really nice jeep, well the Van guy literally t-boned the jeep and to our amazed eyes this freakin guy backed the van up and plowed the jeep again, the jeep hit a parked car in the handycap area [nice car ] I ran up to the van as my daughter watched and yelled at the guy to get out of the van and he did, I told he to go stand over there and he did..the kid was in shock in the jeep, not hurt but stunned at what just happened..Cop's came and we when inside.. 13 year old got a lesson that day, don't cut anyone off on the highway..I wish to hear your stories now...

everytime im a passenger in my brothers truck its road rage fortunitly nothing bad has happen when ive been in it ...but some people think no one else has a right to be on the road tho  im glad beav nothing more happen

I've been driving around L.A all my life and seen a few raged drivers and plenty of knuckle head drivers.

What you saw I think is extremely rare.

I see much less rage these days, not sure why but myself now 48 I've come to realize there's no need to rush and get pissed off at someone for making a dumb shxx move because I've made plenty myself, usually totally unintentional.

There WAS one time in particular though where I really got pissed at this lady.
I was in my late 20's I think.
I was on the freeway going home, minding my own business after a hard day trying to make a honest living.
This lady for some unknown reason cut me off at least 5 times weaving in and out of traffic. I watched as she cut off other people too.
Well the last time she cut me off I just had enough and followed her off the freeway.
I figured she'd have to stop sometime then I could call the cops, hopefully she'd pull into her house because this was the days before cell phones I'd have to go to a pay phone.
Well she saw that I was following her and sped up, I sped up too.
Then she really sped up!
It got to the point we were both squealing around corners and blowing red lights.
At that point I started scaring myself so I broke off.

I didn't know at the time an un marked car was following us.
He pulled up to me at my house and said they called in her license plate to the local police, said they also saw her cutting off and weaving but I shouldn't go chasing people in that big black van.

Kinda funny now, I'm lucky I didn't get my ass thrown in jail!

I've really cooled down my anger in the last 10 years. It aint worth it.

I used to be a real hot head, sometimes it still pops up and I almost always regret getting mad.

Years ago(early 80s), sitting in traffic on a highway in Dallas in a 75 Corvette. Been sitting for 30 minutes or so, while the moron in front of me is blowin on his horn....like THAT'S gonna help. Guy in front of him gets out of his car, walks back to the moron, pulls a pistol, and blows the moron away. He looks at me...and walks back to his car. So now I'm stuck behind someone that ain't likely to be moving, even after the traffic clears.....so I'm really pizzed...but I don't blow my horn. :nea: I run around thru the meadian, and get the heck outta dodge....

I've had nutbags clip me several times in the past, and keep on truckin. It's getting worse now, since we're living in a society that just demands instant gratification....gotta have it NOW, gotta be there NOW...
Oh well...it'll all be over May 21st...that's the day the world is gonna end, according to the billboards around here...

about 3 or 4 years ago , me and my wife went to town for some Air Fittings, and I was in kinda hurry , I was almost back home .out on these back roads , and there was a Dually Diesel pickup sitting at a stop sign. right in the middle of the road , the driver was on a cell phone , at first I didn't think he knew I was behind him, since my horn didn't work , I got off in the grass and started around him , he took off to keep me from passing him , and cut me off and slammed his brakes on and jumped out cussing me , I got out and met him about half way between our trucks , I said who the hell do you think you are. this guy was about 20 I'd guess... and I was thinking to my self , I'm in no shape to be havin a fist fight with a 20 year old.... I said , wait right there just a second, I went behind my seat for a Tire Iron , all the while I was thinking , do I really want to do this.. but ,when I came out with it...he had jumped into his truck and was tearing out. I'm not Sure I would have , But I know he never knew how close he came to having a Life Changing Day. BUT.....I glad he run.

I put on a lot of commute miles. I usually take my car about 5 mph beyond the speed limit and maybe more at times. I'll pull over when I can if someone is behind me. Tailgaters get me upset. My rage is turning the windshield washers on at freeway speeds and enjoy seeing their wipers come on and then watch them back off. Especially if its a nice and clean car and they don't look like their the type to pull a gun out.

Oh I almost forgot this one, My wife and I and her friend Carol all went to see Raiders of the lost Ark at the Movies late night in our Chicago Suburb area back in 1990, Well Carol is kinda large and we went in my wifes little Pinto and the wife drove, when we left I said Carol you can have shotgun so I took the back seat... we were driving down a four lane road and of course the wife is in the fast lane and this guy comes up on us with his bright lights on, before she could change lanes this guy zips around up and flips us the bird then starts yelling something crazy and stays next to us for a good while then pulls in front of us, so what does Carol tell my wife to do? She tells her to honk at him, all this time I'm saying don't do that but it was too late she did... Now the guy is pissed and at the next red light he got out of his car and proceeded to kick the heck out of our[ Nice Cherry] Pinto and I'm sitting in the back seat saying let me the heck out of here now, this dude was kicking the crap out of our car and getting away with it, remember I said Carol was large, well it was a two door and they weren't letting me out I was trapped in the back seat of a Pinto helpless.. So the next light he did it again by this time I'm freaking flamming mad and ready to kill.... I made the wife pull into the gas station and let me out, but the jerk went on down the road, I'm glad he did because I'd probably be locked up for hurting him really bad or worse..We were all shocked...I remember his flames on his hood and I looked all over Chicago for that car...Someone else will get him..Maybe that was the guy on the horn in Dallas..Honking at someone in a traffic jams isn't too bright anyway in my opinion.. I told them both very loudly not to ever provoke someone like that....

Way too many aggressive drivers out there. I carpool with one. Kinda scarey at times. I finally told him I'm dropping out of the car pool because I value my life more than the savings on gas and the wear and tear on my car. Evidently he valued the savings on gas more than his aggressiveness and actually (for the most part) has become a safe and sane driver.

Off topic - just a response:

That is from Harold Camping over at Family Radio. (I will not post his website info because he is wrong! This is the 4th time he has come up with a date for the end of this world and for Jesus to return.) It is a shame because he has access to millions of people. We had a missions team just return from Panama and the bill boards were down there too! BTW, Jesus said, and I quote, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." Jesus is returning, but we do not and cannot know the exact day and hour unlike Mr. Camping. There are many events yet to happen and just as many that were prophesied that are unfolding before our eyes. I will not derail this thread because this is not MC related and we went there before, but I spend a lot of time answering questions about the Bible and where we are in biblical history if anyone is interested. (PM me)

Plus, the bill boards cause distress to so many people around here, it just builds their road rage up! We have one on the side of a camper around here. I have been temped to ask for the title of the camper and have them date it May 22, 2011 if they really do believe. (Not mocking Jesus' return (He will), just this type of nonsense that misleads millions! I am a believer in Jesus and accept what He did on the cross for me!)

OK - back on topic!

I have witnessed a few road rage episodes but I will relate my favorite.
about thirty years ago on a two lane highway with my wife and three young sons in the car, we were stopping behind a lady turning left and waiting for on coming traffic. I stopped back a ways just for room to maneuver if need be. I saw a car approaching from behind at a high rate of speed. his tires started squealing about the same time I gunned it and shot up beside the lady in the grassy berm. the tire squealer lost it sideways and ended up in the ditch across the road.
Here comes the funny part: The lady never did see him and thought I was the tire squealer and proceeded to give me, you know what!  At this point I started laughing mostly from relief that I had avoided being rear-ended and partly from her miss reading the situation. trust me, compared to her actions earlier, when I started laughing she showed me what rage was really like. I believe if she had had a gun, she would have used it on me. The end result was she made her left turn never seeing the guy in the ditch, he was alright and I eventually went on my way. I'm guessing she's still mad at me to this day. :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

I suppose I should have chosen RoadRage as my username. I was really a lot more comfortable driving in Europe without speed limits. :Awe:

Saw this just after reading this thread.
Windham teen driver accused of deliberately hitting motorcyclist

Gotta say this kid is getting off way too easy for my way of thinking, both of those charges are a joke and whats with the judge allowing him to keep his license? $5000.00 bond? Gotta be a typo there maybe it was supposed to be $500,000.00?

Anybody in that general area to keep an eye on this case, be interesting to see just what happens.....

That's pure BS!!!   Intentionally hitting someone on a bike isn't a misdemeanor...it's pre-meditated. That punk should be charged with Attempted Murder.
Then, I find this little rant in the comments section of the thread...
"Actually I think maybe these so called bikers better get a clear message here. The motorcycling public better reign in their stupid antics, such as passing in no passing zones, passing in the breakdown lane and driving down the center of the road. I love crowding right up to the center line when I see some stupid biker driving the yellow lines. One time at the Beach as a passenger I opened the door when some dirt bag on a Harley was driving down the breakdown lane. Off into the puckerbrush he went! You would think with the number of bikers maimed and killed in NH each year they would get it through their thick skulls to obey the law, but nope! So I salute this young man for teaching yet another dumb *** biker an important life's lesson. And hopefully the Biker will also be charged for illegal passing. Two wrongs do not make a right!"

Best I can tell, the Police determined the bike rider was NOT doing anything illegal...

YEEEEESH....Thanx for gettin me wound up this mornin, Flinx!! :thanks: :head bang:

Here, many of the commuting bikers are complete and utter axxhole idiots.
I can understand where that comment came from and I can understand with stupid riders like I see daily why there is always at least one report on the news of a motorcycle down and always in the fast lane, fast lane because they are lane splitting.

These guys do give us other riders a bad image like that of the commenting poster.

I believe comments like that are good also. All riders should pay attention to the bad comments as well as the good and learn something from both.

Of course I don't agree what that kid did was right but I can understand why he MIGHT have done it judging by the commuters I've seen, especially if he doesn't yet understand the killing potential a auto has.

I also wasn't there to see what REALLY happened.
The biker could have been trying to pass him or right on his tail just beggin for it, we don't know what led up to it.
Still, the kid is in the wrong. An auto can be a weapon.

Makes you want to have a talk with some of the younger dudes acting like fools, it does give us all a bad name when they go around popping wheelies on their superbikes and going down the highway at 120 mph's, it's gotta be fun and I'm sure when we were young we would do stupid crap like that too, but now that we are older it seems pretty stupid to us now...Here's a solution for these guy's that get caught doing this on a first offense, take the bike away for 1 year and remove their motorcycle indorsement if caught popping wheelies on a highway maybe all the others will get the message and stop doing it, oh and fine them too 500 bones, more money for the State ... Any other solutions?

Make them pick up trash and carry groceries for the elderly. 50 hours of service for the first offense should do it.

Make him ride-along with EMT's to accident scenes. Not practical but seeing the end results of stupidity might make him grow up...but maybe you cant fix stupidity. :headscratch:
