Make them pick up trash and carry groceries for the elderly. 50 hours of service for the first offense should do it.

Make him ride-along with EMT's to accident scenes. Not practical but seeing the end results of stupidity might make him grow up...but maybe you cant fix stupidity. :headscratch:

Maybe not the EMT's but you'd be surprised how often the tow truck gets there before the coroner. IMHO normal accidents tend to be over too fast to REALLY make an impression, but fatalities (especially bike and small sports cars) make a lasting impression. Or maybe I've just cleaned up after too many to be non biased on the subject.

A driving school around here used to have a wrecked car and bike along with some pictures of the scene and the people in/on them. The car was NOT tidied up, blood everywhere.
I think it should be required to go to a accident or see the results first hand if your convicted (not just charged) with roadrage or excess speed.

I commute on my bike most days, since I live in a remote area I don’t encounter road rage normally. A few months ago I’m on my way home on a Friday afternoon, it had been raining pretty hard and the road that I travel is a pretty twisty road in places. I don’t like riding in the rain and but that seems to be part of commuting on a bike. I guy comes up behind me, I’m doing 50mph and parks right on my tail lights, I figure as soon as I find a wide spot I’ll pull over and he can go on his way. The next thing I know this guy is honking his horn at me, there is no where to pull over and I’m in one of the areas where it is impossible to pass. We come to a short straight stretch, but still double yellow and this guy decides to pass me, I then realize he I towing a boat, as he goes by he give me the finger, so be it. He comes up to the next corner way too fast and truck and boat go sliding off the road and off into a ditch. I just had to stop and explain to this guy just how stupid he was. One of his comments was, that this accident was my fault because I was driving to slow and made him pass me. At that point I started laughing at him, and mentioned it really isn’t a good idea to hit a 35mph corner on a rainy day at about 65 while towing a boat. I got back on my bike and headed on home, however I did call the highway patrol and told them what happened.
One thing I have learned in life, is excessive uncontrolled anger seems to cause more problems that it ever solves.

eing a farmer and riding bike in bad weather ive enountered all kinds of stipid behaver by motorist and a lot were bikers ....amen to the point that anger neer helps at all in most cases ifnot all :mrgreen:
