Well I did it again.
I bought another GoldWing last night (& I still have the GL1100 for now). I got 1989 GL1500 but the speedometer needle fell off.
Now I have everything off but I don't know if I can just push the needle back or if there is something I need to do. I'm looking at it but it doesn't look like it's going to stay on.
Anyone know?
TNX, Jim

Should just be a press-fit onto the shaft. If it was off to start with,a nd it won't stay on now, perhaps the hole in the needle is over-sized, or split? Might need a spot of superglue, or something similar to keep it on.
Congrats ont he new addition, too. :good:

Thank you & it is a nice riding bike.
Okay I have super glue but I was afraid that it might mess up the speedometer.

A drop of super glue seems like the hot ticket.

Congrats on the new bike!
Thank you & okay. Super glue it is. I guess it's not staying on, so I'll try it.

:useless:  maybe get a pic from ebay or something so you know just where to have it point.

~O~
I tried to upload some pix from my phone but for some reason it won't work with blue-tooth (& I just did that 2 days ago) & it won't do it with my USB cable. It is a new phone so I may need to update something. Only had the phone for a week now.

Then again, who needs a speedometer? :moped: :mischief:

~O~

I've been driving my Ranger 4 years without a working speedometer.

Super glue won't last in sunlight. Some nail polish or loctite should hold and last.
+1 on the nail polish

I tried to reinstall windshield mirror with super glue.it held great a few days and fell off in about a week. Pretty much the same result gluing plastic lens.

I tried super glue last night and the needle doesn't move but the odometer still work so I guess I'm not going to worry about it
You can find a replacement dash module whatever on eBay.
