Hey this is Sundance from T-Dot, Toronto that is. My ride is a 1985 GL1200 Interstate. Now the thing is,this bike is a custom BOBBER. Not just a naked wing, it has been bobbed. Bobbed fenders, seat, shocks and yes even swapped out all electronic bells and whistles including gauges, turn signals, speedo etc. Replaced same with mini speedo tach digital combo. Changed pipes to a more aggressive. This white walled monster has acquired a major increase in horse power, and is old school bobber lean. :music: My best times are riding late at night, just enjoying the freedom and solitude of the night on country back roads. Got 30 plus years riding.

Oh yeah, this ride was built by the Goldwing King in Toronto. Paul has or can get any wing part from any year, really. The guys really love wings, treat customers like friends and go easy on the wallet.

Anyhow, I belong to a small. Club that is into nothing but riding, no political or hierarchical bs. I am old school scooter tramp that happens. To love Goldwing, dressed, naked, bobbed, chopped old or new. Always ready to meet new like minded riders to ride with.

Welcome to the CGW Forums, Sundance!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Now...you don't think you could describe a ride like that and not show any pics, do ya? Sounds interesting, fer sher....let's see some pics! :beg:  :good:

There are pics in Goldwing kings. Album. I haven't figured out how to post picks yet. If someone cares to show me I will post them. Have pics from start to finish.C:\Documents%20and%20Settings\Owner\Desktop\Billys%20Pics\pride%20in%20ride.bmp

which one is it Bober1 View attachment 1 or is it bober2
They are both the same bike. Bobber one is a night shot after we did the rim red decalling. Bobber 2 is a day earlier when we tried out the skinny mini lights (green) on engine. When I figure how to upload more shots I will post a series of building shots from start to completion. Would have done so today but it was sunny and 10 degrees out, sooooooooo, was riding.

Greetings from So. Cal.
Got a 84 1200 standard, custom too.
I still need to drop the gauges to the bottom of the original mounting points, I'll need to remove the gauge cluster studs, drill and relocate them underneath the mounting points, should lower them by an inch or so.

The seat is a stock, just cut the back half. The rear fender is also stock. Lights/turns on both front and back have been changed. replaced rear shocks, added some chrome goodies. Rear crash bar is from a 76 gl100. Re-worked air box and carbs, uncorked the exhaust, added some turnout pipe ends. Added rigid leather bags front and back. Machined hwy. pegs. For the most part it's a stock 84 Standard. The major design change was the lighting. (https://www.jpcycles.com/)
