Hey joe that rattling motor we talk on phone #1cylinder only as 70lbs compression and wet test it shot to 170lbs all other cylinders are 145lbs so I'm guessing rings. Motor is just sitting on bench now.

Well things aren't very good. I can't get clutch adjusted correct. I installed new disc and cable and I adjusted screw at the clutch, I adjusted as manual stated one turn out. I can't get it to adjust correct. When the clutch handle lever is in and you let it out about 1/4 the clutch engages. And when I ride about 200 yards and go to stop the clutch is still engaged a little you have to hold back with your feet.

Adjust screw in on the clutch 1/2 turn. There's always some variation it seems in clutch adjustments.

bogging at first like that it's likely running very rich. I'll let the more experienced carb guys chime in. Meanwhile You might want to pull a few plugs and see if they stink of gas. Might try leaning the mix screw as much as you can.

PS if exhaust stinks of the smell of gasoline it is way rich.

As SG says, you could be way too rich, but if you're not way too rich.

It's definitely a vacuum leak, anywhere air can get in were it shouldn't, between the bottom of the carb and the intake ports on the heads.

Or even on the carb itself, like in my case.

In my case, this deal here was loose.

I give up with this thing. Had it running good, idling good 1000-1050rpm. Was tesing riding today put on over 15 miles riding around shut motor off. Hour later motor runs like sh--. Will not idle at all now without stalling. It needs fuel because at high idle 2500rpm and hold choke 1/4 shut it sounds good there but will not idle at all.
I'm so mad now, I don't know what to do. Should I screw with this carb. or get a different one or buy a rebuild kit for the honda carburetors.

Good advise, few hours, sometimes days. Then often something so simple, you can't believe you missed it.

Well whats got me is i didn't do anything to it. Shut it off hour later go to ride again and the carburetor is screwed. I have to hold choke shut half way to even keep motor running. Turninng volume control screw or bypass screw does nothing now.
I'm going to pull carb.
