I'm just throwing this out there.

I need to figure a way to get an 1100 engine from Joe's place in French Lick Indiana to me in L.A California.

An idea occurred to me today while talking to Paul that maybe a driver could pick up the engine in Indiana,
then if they don't go all the way, they could hand it off to another driver, then even another driver if needed.

My budget is $300 max so I was thinking if it had to be handed off 3 times then each driver would get $100, 2 times each driver $150. Or one driver, the entire $300.

I know it's not much but I figure maybe some or most of those trailers might have a 4'x4' space available to make some extra cash and you no doubt know other drivers and what route's they run.

If I knew where it could get close, I could run and meet up for the pickup.

I travel the midwest all the time and could pick it up and get it to Iowa or Kansas City if you are not in a big hurry. I do not know when I go west but am in IN all the time. (even tonight). Just throwing that out.

Dan, when my '83 engine was shipped to me, the shipping cost for a freight carrier was $172 from Bloomington, MN to New Jersey. The PO just put the engine on a pallet and strapped it down with a set of ratchet straps from Home Depot. It was well worth it for me!
