The teacher said, "Let's begin by reviewing some American History. Who said 'Give me Liberty , or give me Death'?"

She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Little Akio, a bright foreign exchange student from Japan , who had his hand up: 'Patrick Henry, 1775' he said.

'Very good!' Who said, 'Government of the People, by the People, for the People, shall not perish from the Earth?'

Again, no response except from Little Akio: 'Abraham Lincoln, 1863'.

'Excellent!', said the teacher continuing, 'let's try one a bit more difficult...'

Who said, 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country?'

Once again, Akio's was the only hand in the air and he said: 'John F. Kennedy, 1961'.

The teacher snapped at the class, 'Class, you should be ashamed of yourselves, Little Akio isn't from this country and he knows more about our history than you do.'

She heard a loud whisper: '**** the Japs,'.

'Who said that? I want to know right now!' she angrily demanded.

Little Akio put his hand up, 'General MacArthur, 1945.'

At that point, a student in the back said, 'I'm gonna puke.'

The teacher glares around and asks, 'All right!!! Now who said that!?'

Again, Little Akio says, 'George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister, 1991.'

Now furious, another student yells, 'Oh yeah? Suck this!'

Little Akio jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher, 'Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!'

Now with almost mob hysteria someone said, 'You little ****. If you say anything else, I'll kill you.'

Little Akio frantically yells at the top of his voice, 'Michael Jackson to the children testifying against him, 2004.'

The teacher fainted. As the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said, 'Oh ****, We're screwed!'

Little Akio said quietly, 'The American people, November 4, 2008 .'

I was going to post something else fun to poke at Obama but decided it better to be sincere.

I voted for him.

Why?
Because like so many others I wanted change.

I don't know much about politics and don't follow the debates, although I should I just don't have time but I do make it a point to watch the real final debates in the presidential election.

I was both excited and concerned for change but sadly I felt of the choices we had Obama was the best.
No THE best but the best of the choices.

Now so many years later who knows where we'd be had one of the others made it in.
Could be better, worse or the same.

All I know is a lot of people are hurting including myself, hurt that wasn't there before Obama took office.

Change? From what to what? That was my question all along. His idea of change we now know was to exponentially multiply more of the same failed crap that put us in the position. I voted for the dummy and the hot chick. At least both of them had some work experience. We'd have been a lot better off I think if we'd voted in a greenhouse of potted plants.

Well change because the last **** head that was in there started this whole downward spiral.

Something triggered the collapse back then. I believe it had a lot to do with that new law requiring employers do a background screening which took affect Jan 1st 2006 or 07.

I do believe too that this mess was inevitable given all the money hungry sharks out there having their way making loans knowing full well people would get into trouble.
But I think too it stems from bad leadership even further back than that.

All of the above would have had absolutely no effect if folks had been personally responsible. If people relied on themselves to manage their money instead of relying on credit they'd be far better off.

AMEN!

I always suspected way back in the 80's "creative financing" was just asking for trouble even with what little I knew about real estate and finances.

It's interesting that the very practices of people to get themselves into debt and letting their own ignorance get them into trouble is what our government has done.
Brilliant politicians eh?
Idiots.

Anyway, my wife and I got ourselves into debt by being stupid racking up cards because it was so easy.
We never suspected the bills were getting as high as they were, stupid... stupid.
We've since pulled ourselves out with the help of a consolidation company to get interest rates reduced and the help from her folks.
We learned, won't do that again.
Not to pat ourselves on the back but at least we took responsibility for what we've done and will be debt free in less than 2 years. We are paying off every cent.
So many are turning their backs on their screwups which is perpetuating the problems we're having right now.

All I know is, folks wanted "Change", and we got it....it seems to have changed for the worse. I'll also agree that most of the bad ju-ju was started in previous admins, BUT, the present admin hasn't seemed to do anything to make life better for anyone other than themselves and the filthy rich...who really don't need the help to begin with. I DO! Business is down to almost a complete stop...folks just don't have the $$$$ to fix their cars, or they don't want to spend what they do have, in case they loose their jobs....I smell a domino effect coming on....

Mama & I have paid off all of our credit cards, and only have normal utilities, and mortgage to pay. Personal responsibility is no longer an individual's worry....it's MINE, since I get up every day and go to work, and pay taxes, so lazy bastiges can sit on their ass an collect welfare while spitting out kid after kid, since they know the Gov'ment is gonna take care of them by taking money out of MY pocket, and giving it to them poor, poor underprivileged illegals.....

I will stop now....I done fergot what the friggin topic was anyway....
SEE what ya'll started?!?!?!?!?
