what would you suggest for a USB charger on my bike? I have seen a few, and ranging anywhere from $25-$300 for a set up. i just need something basic, and reliable that wont kill my battery. I am a process server and my GPS tends to die quicker then i can get the papers out. so i need something i can plug my GPS usb charger into while i ride to keep it going.

Buck, I bought a 12- 5v reducer from a site Buy in Coins in China. I intend to use some old USB hubs and create a pretty good charging circuit for on the GW. I will run my iPhone all the time as GPS, music if required and phone through a blue tooth headset. I also have a battery back up which I think that I purchased from them as well $23.

I have the old cig outlet on my '83 aspy and it served well to charge my mp3 player, and smart phone on our vacation in florida, I found long usb to micro usb patch cables and the "power outlet" with mutiple usb outlet adaptors at my local dirt mall so everything would reach my pocket and allow me to step off with out unhooking first.

I would mount a power outlet (cig lighter socket) maybe onto one of the bar clamps then that way you could plug in one of the power outlet usb chargers, something like this one. https://www.sportsimportsltd.com/ac-dc-u ... Qgod4zcACw

that would be great, but where do i get the hook up to mount one to my bars and the wiring to hook up to the battery?

Have a look at this kit:
https://www.amazon.com/EKLIPES-EK1-110-U ... wer+outlet

The power outlet clamps to the bars and has enough wire to reach the accessory fuse connection at the fuse block under the false tank

Put a fairing on that beast and then you won't have that problem! :smilie_happy:

I installed a fused cig lighter socket, too. But I also added a switch going directly to the battery whick keeps the charging unit independent from the wing electrical system.
