Amazing just the one rope is strong enough!
 
That one "rope" is stronger than steel. It is a synthetic line with a breaking strength of over 3,586,000 lbs. Do not be fooled though, aircraft carriers are actually very easy to push around! Most military ships are! (Except the good old fashioned battleships like the New Jersey and the Missouri...they have got some girth to them!)
