I had set up my Vetter key on an alloy clip that would allow me to separate it from the Honda key easily so that I could open the luggage without removing it from the ignition. I used an alloy clip to reduce the weight on the key and to reduce the amount of damage on the air pressure sticker on the handle bars.
I thought that I had lost the key as the clip sometimes didn't lock the way it should and it wasn't on the ignition key after a ride about 2 months ago. Today while checking over the Rats Nest I found the key sitting between the radiator and the rh timing cover :clapping:

I found a spare key to the ignition at teh same spot the first time I changed my belts. Must have been lost by a PO years before that because it looked like it had been there a while.

New progressives in Schizoid. Wow! Lifted it two inches plus. I now have about four inches above the triple trees. I might have to make some clip ons. The ride is unbelievably better. The next time I need a change, I should be able to have a chopper look for sure. I have it riding lower in the front and the front wheel stays on the pavement with me, but last night with the wife on and not a hard take off, it lifted a couple inches.

That doesn't sound like much fun. Oh - unless you let out the clutch...then, woo-hoo!!

Oops! Forgot that part! :Doh2: Thanks for catching it Steve. :eek:k:

Rode to work, then to Twin Peaks (appropriately named) for lunch, then to get a tattoo retouched. Had to take I-40 through West Knoxville. WHITE KNUCKLE TIME! I hate the super-slab.

Took her out for a short ride. Got to commute to work tomorrow so wanted to check her out and fill the tank.
Of course first I checked her tires, fluids etc. Then we ran around about 30 miles down by the waterfront.
Tomorrow is my 120mile RT commute. Nice weather at least and mostly all two lane roads.

Rode it Like I Stole It!!!!

Did the economy test, 25 miles on a known fill spot, and my numbers show that it came out to average mileage being a nudge higher than 46 mpg, I ran 15 miles on the super slab and the rest was in town riding in the lower gears. Thats better mileage than I got on my CX500 Deluxe a few years back.

And now that I am starting to trust the mount, the funner it becomes, its almost to that sweet spot tune where you know what the machine will do in circumstances where you need that power and ride. I have grown on this big ol b****. It runs in a healthy and responsive way that is unique to say the least.

And the bike is quite comfortable on the freeway, I need the bikes to readily handle 80 miles per hour. On most days you travel that speed to stay ahead of the trucks, and other annoying forms of traffic congestion.

Its fast, quick and nimble, and I still have work to do on it, can't wait to get more tuning done when the jets come in.
