I want a Ring of Fire... :(

~O~
I fell into one...I went down, down, down... :music2:

:ahem:

Decided to finally change the rear shock absorber bushes while I was changing the rear tire. The bushes looked fine while mounted but once I removed them you could clearly see that they were damaged.
Others gave complained about how hard it is to get their GWs onto the center stand and I never had any problems until recently. I believe it is a combination of worn shock absorber bushes and worn rear tire that made it that hard to get the Rats Nest up onto the center stand that I was damaging my left foot where I was pushing down on the stand. I decided to polish up the rear rack while I had it off to remove the shock bushes. Tomorrow I intend to clean up the a Rats Nest and finish putting the top box back on.
One reason I waited so long to change my rear tire is I was waiting for these right angle valve stems to arrive from China.
I will post some photos of the rear valve stem installed tomorrow.

I also joined the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club ( https://www.vjmc.org.au) so that I can put club registration on the Rats Nest ( restricted use but about a third of the cost to register per year) and I had to meet with an officer who filled out a statement about the Rats Nests authenticity for Queensland Transport ( DMV). Graeme has an 82 Aspencade which was imported from Japan ( where it was imported to from the US) amongst his other 20+ bikes ( bad case of MBS) which has only about 22k miles on it and is in showroom condition. I didn't get a chance to get photos but I will in the future.

My cousin was over yesterday with their 16 year old daughter. I took her for a ride on the wing. She enjoyed it so much, I looked in my mirror and all I could see was a big smile on her face and she kept saying "this is so cool". That's what it's all about.

I am now a first time owner of a GL 1200.
Yesterday i purchased my bike. Brought it home and started the detailing process. Bike has been in storage since 2012.
Gawd that's fun, lucky you!

Rode to work this morning like always, only on Sunday there is no traffic, no cops, no worries. Just gobbling up the road at 80+. :rocks:

well I'm wing-less and bikes less for a few days. my friend is doing the alternator conversion on the 1200 wing, the battery is dead on the 750f, my neighbor is out of town and the cb450 is locked in her garage, and the front wheel bearings are shot on the 1500 wing

So far just looked at the fork dust seals, tried prying them up then decided I better ask how they come loose.
Just keep prying Dan  I prefer something wide and thin, a fairly strong putty knife/ paint scraper. I also have a couple of old blunt wood chisels that I use for prying things :good:
