Yes I've had the front slide out a few times on sand and gravel then hook up at the last instant. A real wake up call for sure.
Here in NJ, we have an abundance of sand in every turn!

First time you slide on the sand without seeing it first causes a real pucker factor!! :smilie_happy:

pucker factor :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: that's a good one, i'll have to try to remember that.weather's supposed to get better by the end of the week so maybe i'll be riding soon
:rocks:

i scrubbed some of the dirt, dust, and tar off the front wheel of my 1500 wing so it doesn't appear to have black rims and i finally got the air pressure down to 29psi in the new progressive rear shocks

Mama was on the war path, having one of her female moments. I had to go outside to wait for a better moment. Started the wing and didn't even need the choke. Before the carburator adjustment I had to hop on one foot/pat my head/rub my stomach, then hold my tongue just right and move the choke exactly while cranking, then keep it sputtering for a minute till it would run on it's own. I didn't think it ran bad. Amazing what a little carb sync will do.

I gave my wing the gift of Music

Bought a new Pioneer Blue tooth compatible radio and installed it - works great ! waiting on my Sena Bluetooth Intercom headset (did not come in today so I guess its Tuesday at the earliest)
I installed the radio in a Marine Enclosure so its water tight (they only had white so i painted it first coat) Not sure if I like it or not I might remove the enclosure mount the radio inside the fairing and use the remote control to adjust it - My new intercom unit (when it finally arrives) will adjust the volume ok.

Anyways (for this long weekend anyways) it is what it is !!

I thought the long weekend (Memorial) was next weekend.

in the Great White North the queen's birthday is celebrated May 24th or the Sunday before never after.

 I pulled the rear tire on my '85 Aspencade and had a new one put on. It was balder than I am. Also put new pads all around. That was after changing timing belts and pulse generators last weekend. I think I will take next weekend off or I may install the new driving lights I have.

PO had mounted ignition switch on lower left cowel panel besides carb without reinforcing it and I noticed it cracking out. Removed it and it broke into six pieces. Did the repair and looks like new now.

Then I removed two PO add-on wire jobs, one to a set of driving lights which I disconnected and did away with, left lights on for looks for time being, and just as I figured, he also direct wired the cooling fan to the back of the universal ignition switch so it stays on all the time. That will be remedied when I put the belts on.

Checked voltage across battery, idle at 1000=13.5v 3000 rpm=14.56 5000=14.89 so I guess it's doing ok and thats all I did today.
