5.8 on the Richter scale East coast earthquake!!! Well, it wasn't all that bad where I am. Our building wobbled to and fro for about 30 seconds. Some places lost some buildings (Ours aren't designed to wobble like California.....many were built before we even knew California existed :smilie_happy: ) Kinda reminded me of my old office when I owned a ferry company....my office was on a barge that was also the loading dock for the ferry. Whenever a tugboat or ship passed, their wake would rock the daylights out of the barge (and my office, computers, books, desk drawers, etc....)

Small quakes like that are cool, I like them.
I know I'm weird.

We haven't had any sizable quakes here for quite awhile. Hope mother earth isn't building to slam us with another big one.

There was a small one in our area over the weekend...at least that's what they said on the news. We've had quit a few small ones in the past year or so...folks that know are blaming it on all of the gas drilling they are doing around here, since quakes ain't exactly a normal Texas thang.

I just got an e-mail from a friend that lives up yonder, and he sent a pic of the MASSIVE devastation that occurred at his place....rough stuff...he might have to file for Federal assistance.... :crying:

Good thing those old brick buildings in NYC didn't crumble.
People say there is a fault line that goes right through Harlem.
Earthequakes are not just California/Japan thing.
