Hello all,
Just got a 'wing. It's an 84 Aspencade with about 50,000 miles on the clock that I know I'm gonna need to do serious work on. Bought knowing it has charging issues (i.e., needs a stator). Dealer I bought it from had it running, drove it onto my trailer. Engine sounds good. Battery is dead flat (6.14 volts!), so I got a new one of those. The infamous three yellow wire connector had been cut out (I found it in the trunk) and replaced with butt splices (not soldered).
Questions:
Source for factory shop manual (preferable download)?
Replace stator vs add alternator?
I don't want the CB (and the bezel is toast). Anybody replace that with something interesting, like maybe a small storage compartment?
Way to hook and MP3 player to factory radio or replacement for that radio?
I'm coming up from an 81 CX500 Custom. Neither me or my wife of 29 years is as small as we once were, and the CX just isn't quite enough bike for the both of us. AND she says I can only have one...
