I just have to share this with you all...it's all just so audacious.

As you know, my step-daughter just got married. My son-in-law is an convicted felon gang member who sells/does almost anything for money. This is a true embarrassment for my wife and I, but we are trying to maintain a relationship with our daughter. That said, they dropped by to show us their new $35K 2012 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. Nice car big ******* deal, they bought a new Honda Accord and Nissan 350Z last year(so three cars now). After we rode around the block in it we were chatting at home and it starts... "I want to talk to you about something serious "Moms and pops." I really dislike these patently false terms of endearment. Anyway, they start talking about the second bigger wedding they are planning for this May.

The declaration went something like this: "Since we paid for the first wedding, we think it's only fair that our friends and family pay for the second. That way you(speaking to my wife and I) and our friends can feel some pride in helping us." At this point, my step-daughter looks up at me and says "and it's tradition for the parents to pay for the wedding anyway." This will be my step-daughters 2nd marriage and third wedding. He then explained how he's going to hit up all his friends that he has loaned money for bail and what have you, and even his mother who has all but disowned him.

They are truly out of their cotton picking minds. My wife and I are living paycheck to paycheck, no savings or bank account, saving our loose change in a coffee cup on the dresser so we can afford the $6 we need for lunch in the cafeteria at work on payday. AND THEY KNOW THIS. Meanwhile last week they tell us how he lost over $3K at the casino playing cards.

I've been up since 2a.m. because when I woke to relieve myself the first thought that crossed my mind was that conversation last night and I became so angry I couldn't go back to bed. This morning I'm going to have to start preparing my wife for the heart ache I see on the horizon. No matter how hard he says he tries, that leopard will never change his spots, and it's going to hurt my wife the most.

~O~

When you first announced their wedding and I saw his picture I knew he was a ****** looser, that is why I said "as long as she's happy".

"That way you(speaking to my wife and I) and our friends can feel some pride in helping us."

Where the hell did that come from!?
Is she like a little stuck up princess or what?

Sorry bro, I'm not looking forward to the day when my wife and I will be in your shoes

:smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: Sorry I know its no laughing matter for you. It smells of scam. Another way to scam family & friends (if he has any) out of money. Come on man! Another wedding ceremony in less than 6 months?
Maybe I'm a bit crude, IMHO if the buck doesn't stop here, it never will.
Suggest they sell one of their cars to pay for their ceremony. Because we simply can't afford another! :Egyptian:

Tell them if they want a "traditional" wedding. ****** elope and keep going! My kids wanted nothing from me but money. I had none to share so, I have no contact with them or my grandchildren. Screw the pompous generation!

I agree. If they wanted a 'traditional' wedding, they should have went for one to begin with. Guess they're missing the wedding presents now, and want to cash in.

No disrespect, but made me think of this commercial.

No correlation, I just think the commercial is funny.

Randy...that's just BS. I'd also tell HIM to sell the friggin Yeep and pay for his OWN ego trip. Apparently, they don't need your "Help", if they can afford 3 vehicles, and you and your Mrs. are barely scrapin by. Lotta ****** nerve, iffin ya ax me. Is the Mrs. as peeved as you about this, or does she want to do it?
Don't have a grandkid with a dog collar..... :nea:

Yep that's me, I thought the same the first time I saw that commercial.

I forgot to mention they said "Oh we could afford it ourselves, but we think our friends should be willing to do this for us."

As for the wife? Yeah she's hot about this, she doesn't even want to talk to the daughter on the phone about this, she's waiting to do it in person. :hihihi:

In that case, it should have been the friends that suggested it... :sensored:
