    For Sale: 1983 GL1100 standard

https://norfolk.craigslist.org/mcy/4079626283.html Would prefer "local" sale (i.e. no shipping). Nice Goldwing, would like to see it go to a good home, to someone who'll ride her. I just don't have the time, the riding weather in eastern VA sucks, as do the roads, so I end up spending more...

    BRAKE HOSES? Whos got them?

Try "cyclebrakes.com" too...I've bought brakes lines, rotors, and pads from them before, but nothing for my 'Wing yet. I de-linked the brakes on a Moto Guzzi V1100 I used to have, and got the full-floating rotors, organic pads, and Galfer custom-made brake lines from them. Prices were pretty...

What will they think of next

Yup, been riding in So Cal since the early 80's, won't ride in the rain either...with all the sunshine and fabulous roads to ride, having to take a day off every now and then because of wet weather is a fair price to pay, lol...now here in southeast VA, it's an entirely different story...I rode...

What will they think of next

Yup, that's what layered gloves are for. Kinda tricky, because you have to balance warmth against bulk, but I've found a nice pair of silk or lightweight polypro glove liners inside winter gloves usually does the trick. But for me, if I have to get all plugged in with eletric hand grips...

    Greetings from the Eastern Shrore

You talking Eastern Shore as in Virginia? I live down in Norfolk, just on the other side of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. My ride is an '83 GL1100 Standard, as shown in my sig pic. Not sure what typical problems the tourings rigs like Aspencades had, maybe things like loose mounts for the...

    Brad Keselowski wins championship

Again, "NASCAR" and "racing" shouldn't be used in the same sentence...and "skills", really?!

    Brad Keselowski wins championship

Nah...asphalt is for racing...dirt's for growing potatoes, lol...

    Brad Keselowski wins championship

One could train a monkey to drive a car fast in an oval, or a straight line for that matter...but put 'em on a REAL road course, then you have some REAL racing. That's why those NASCAR "drivers" wreck on road courses like Sonoma, Loudon, and Watkins Glen. I don't care about running, or biking...

    Brad Keselowski wins championship

"NASCAR" and "racing" should NEVER be used in the same sentence...now European Touring Car, Australian V8, even World Rally Car is racing...but not NASCAR...

Best trip you've ever had on your bike

Found a pic of my old yellow Ducati, brings back some good memories, including from when my junior in college was only a little tyke!

The one bike you wished you had kept,

Found a picture of that yellow Ducati: That's my oldest daughter Shelby standing in front of me, who's now a junior in college! Man how time flies! Kept that bike mostly stock, except for some Termignoni racing slip-ons from an 888, s/s brake lines, tinted windscreen, and a master brake...

Best trip you've ever had on your bike

Haven't had a "best ride" yet on the Goldwing. But the best ride I've had to date was when I had my '93 Ducati Superlight, and I organized a trip with some other Ducati owners for a trip up to Laguna Seca for the World Superbike races. We took some back roads out of Ventura County into Santa...

What the Hell was he thinking! ( hope this wasn't one of our guys)

This guy's an idiot. He needs to be chemically castrated, to make sure he is incapable of producing any more offspring, and that his bloodline ends with him, since he's obviously another product from the shallow end of the gene pool. And yes, he needs to be held accountable for all the laws...

"...plowed into a motorcycle, dragging it about 100 yards."

True justice would've been served if that officer who caught that piece of sh*t put a round thru his brain. A 9mm round only costs a quarter, and it would've saved the county a whole lot of money over prosecuting this obviously guilty poor excuse for a human being. Yet another product from the...

when you need parts, it sure pays to shop around!

Using an after-market oil filter versus OEM, in and of itself, should not void any warranty. I'm pretty sure the manufacturer would have to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the use of said after-market filter was the sole cause of whatever damage occurred. Isn't that what the...

when you need parts, it sure pays to shop around!

But on the flipside, the internet has also given us the means to start or perpetuate a lot of "urban legends" when it comes to parts and maintenance (left-handed crescent wrench, bucket of prop wash, yard of flight line, you know the kind!). I used to have a 1978 Moto Guzzi V50, which is a...

when you need parts, it sure pays to shop around!

You are absolutely right that it pays to shop around! I recently picked up a 1996 Jaguar XJ6 (always wanted an XJ6), and got one of these instead of a series III, because IMO they ('95-'97) were the last of the "true" Jags, with the Jag 4.0 straight 6, but with dual overhead cams and much...

    Grip Glue ??

When I went to replace the grips on a friend's 750 Super Magna, I used my small portable compressor, inserted the nozzle end between the grip and bar, and viola, instantly unglued, it was amazing. Just worked it around while I was sliding the grip off, and lickity split it was off in like a...
