lulz... I went to AutoZone already.

No codes came up, so I'm trying a can of SeaFoam(to salesperson: I don't care if the Lucas stuff is on sale I prefer SeaFoam thank you).

With no scan data, I'm gonna go with carbon build up. Knock sensor will set a code, EGR flow will set a code, as will most other things. Not all codes will turn on the light. At least not untill it see's the problem more than once in a row. Some of those cheapie code readers will not pull ALL the codes. Assuming the car doesn't lose power while this is happening, I'm going with the carbon buid up theory.
