You probably answered this, but are you omitting the cover rubber gaskets? You will not want this moving around.

Dan, you've got me thinking (and that is a worry). Just went out and took pic of my '82 timing belt cover. If I could machine the cover flat where the timing box would go then might work on an 1100.
