56 miles

headed out around 08:00 this morning with mural hunting on my mind. it was sunny but only 48f out so I wore my tourmaster venture pants with the liner in and tourmaster metro jacket, I wore a light weight fleece jacket under the metro jacket for extra warmth. I also wore some lined deer skin gloves and some short light weight boots that I picked up off of ebay, they work better with my bad foot that the taller alpinestar boots that I normally wear. I headed north on Schafer rd. and made a stop at the post office for a pic and then made a stop in Oak park, Mi for this mural

it was a short ride up to Berkley, mi for these two even though I wasn't looking for them

I ended upon on M-1, Woodward ave. so I made a stop in Ferndale for this mural, I also removed the fleece jacket and changed into a pair of summer gloves that were in the trunk

I took Woodward south then headed east on 8 mile rd. to get a mural that I spotted yesterday while I was out

I wanted to head back to Woodward but getting turned around on 8 mile was going to be a challenge so I took Sherwood south and ended up at 7 mile rd. which turned out to be a good thing despite getting stopped by a train crossing

once back at Woodward I head south and right away I spot this mural

it was a little bit of a haul through the city to get out for my next pic which was in Dearborn hts, mi on us-24

with two more murals to get I took us-24 north and joy rd. east for these two

once I got my pic's I continued east on joy rd. back to Schafer made a right turn and one block later I was home!! it was time to get off my foot for a few hours and let it relax some plus it didn't swell up which is a good thing

Oh me too! These were fantastic. I never cease to be amazed at the sheer number, quality and diversity of types of murals to be found in the greater Metro Detroit area.

You really should put together a compilation of these things, William. With a little dialogue, it might even make for a publishable book!.

The 1500 is looking good, and I am glad for you that you've got the health and the stamina in your foot to enjoy it. Please do more of this.

Oh man, the artistry is truly incredible. Always wished I could draw (even a little) but I'm lucky to get a good stick-man.

Collecting all the mural pics to a separate page or site sounds like a good side project for someone. If I only had more time.

though my riding is still limited I will do my best to get more murals and other oddities that are in and around the city

How do you find them?
Are they abundant in your area or am I not looking around enough?
