1981 GL1100 Innerstate("The Turd")SOLD!!, 1996 GL1500 Innerstate
Local shop has a sweet '94 Aspy for sale. Super nice bike, with ALL the bells & whistles...trailer hitch, passenger arm rests, boards frt/rear, stereo, mucho chrome, etc. Gorgeous Burgandy/wineberry color, seats in great shape. Don't know how it runs/sounds or anything. Just have seen it there twice now...last weekend with Mama with me drooling..... :whistling:
They want $7400 for it. I don't remember how many miles it has, or anything. I guess I really should run back up there and get a little more info, but I was just wonderin...is the 1500 as good a ride as the 1100 I have? This thing seems to have it's hooks in me, even tho I do NOT need another 'Wing....but it shore am purdy..... :beg:
Does this sound like a reasonable price if it turns out to be in good condition, mechanically? Or should I just quit fantasizing..... :lazy:

the 1500 wings have more room for you and mama so you will not feel cramped up. has a larger trunk and saddlebags too. does it ride better than an 1100 wing? i don't know but my 1500 wing does ride and handle better than my 1200 wing. $7400, take a look on craigslist in your area to see what '94 aspys are going for, i see them as low as $6000 around here

The 1500 is a great bike, lots of room, the only thing I find is it's heavy. If I was you, I would spend a few bucks more and find a 1800 which in my experience, is more nimble and better power, it rides like a sport bike. The downside of the 1800 is, the saddle bags are smaller than the 1500.

Thats what I hear as well save a bit more and get the 1800, never regret it. Buddy of mine has a 1500 according to him its nice on the open road but in a parking lot it handles like a bus.

I like riding both......but working on them is a whole different animal!

I helped my buddy change his air filter on his 1800 and was shocked at how much bike has to come apart to get to it! Worse, the amount of wiring and connections would make the Starship Enterprise seem like a Model T!! :smilie_happy:

I was at the bike shop close by and slippped back to chat with the mechanic who was working on an 1800 and I could not believe the wiring there is under the plastic. Still trying to get my head around an air bag on a motorcycle .. whooda thought!

I am not a fan of the 1800.I would buy a BMW first or better keep my 1100.
But I feel the 1500s are the definition of luxery. If it feels a little big in a parking lot,so what.Buy a sport bike to park next to it.Who says we only get one bike anyway.

Nothing wrong about wanting a 1500. :beg: Had one for 11 years or 99.000 miles. Beautiful Bikes! $7.400 sounda a bit steep though....

Now this 1500 (Valkyrie) I can jump on!

Valkyrie, now that's a nice bike, that's what I had before I traded for the gold wing. That bike was nice to ride, eazee to work on and plenty of power. When I traded the bike it had 140000 KLM on it and still running great. I miss my Valk. :crying:

Wow...from an Aspy to a Valk...."Right turn, Clyde.....".... :smilie_happy:

Otay...I think I'm over it now. As long as I stay away from that shop, I should be back to normal in a few more days.... :Doh2:

I know what you mean about staying away from those shops. I keep looking at them but that darned 1200 its hard to give up on a virtually trouble free ride. But I have to admit the 1800's look like the next bike

What a difference years make, here's a picture of my 1800 and 1100, my 1000 is in the basement in pieces, no pictures of that one yet, being restored. No matter which one you buy, there all great bikes.

Well you know me, I'm partial to the flat 4's but given a choice I'd go with a 1500 with all the bells and whistles. The ultimate cruiser with a 6'2" friendly frame.
Yes, thats true the 1500 has more room. Hey Dan, wheres my CGW donation tag, you where supposed to hand them out with donation? I don't see mine.
