I went up to Springwood Suzuki for coffee today and Derek brought along his 1 owner Aussie delivered 98 Valkyrie. I later took it for a test ride and it runs even better than it looks. Maurice or I ( preferably me :beg: ) need to purchase this beautiful machine

Hi Wes. I would love to be in a position to help you and myself out by buying your Valkyrie which seems like great value. Unfortunately any vehicle newer than 1989 costs considerably more than the likes of the Rats Nest to bring back into Oz. The other major problem is that the Aud is only worth 75% of the greenback so in all honesty this bike is only $4k in your money. Ruth is coming around to the concept so I will make contact and see if I can come to a satisfactory agreement with Derek this week. She loves the colour and condition ( as do I ) plus there is the fact that it is a one owner with all the papers, Aussie delivered of English/ Aussie allocation and Serial number 000002 :clapping:

i hope some thing works out for you Tony.
i was in deep study of the pics you sent me of the Valk, the boss walks past, takes a look and says " humph"... i know what that means.... :smilie_happy:

I am quite happy for it to go to a good home in the South. Derek's main request is that it goes to a good home and gets ridden more frequently than he has been

Beautiful ! Ansimp, everyone i have known that sold their Valk over that last 15 years ..all said the same thing ...Wish i would have kept it !!! I have 3 motorcycles..and it they all need to be ridden, that is the hard part trying not to let them sit when fuel in them !! Good Luck on your decision ! My GL Valk still gives me goose bump's when fired up, sounds like a Ferrari too ! Best Greg

Thanks for that Greg. My darling wife went to the bank today and we are now the proud owners of Derek's bike.

Would really like to have one of these in the fleet, that would make five, a real handful to keep up with & ride! :whistling: My car is parked outside, so there's room to move the bikes around now. Wife still seem's to think that her car needs to be in the garage. :hihihi: Hard to understand why, but sometimes you have to give in a bit to get along. :smilie_happy:Wonder what she would say if the suggestion came up??? :headscratch:

I went over this evening to give Derek and his wife payment for my Valkyrie and he presented me with this never used spare set of keys.
As I don't want to attempt the DD in the dark on this beautiful ride I will probably leave it with Derek until this weekend. I also need to get a roadworthy to transfer the registration I may have to do that on Friday. I also need to provide some space in the garage for parking as Ruth thinks it needs a better spot than just under the carport :hihihi:

It will take at least a mile or two to adjust to the ride. Signal switch is odd. Needs direct sideways push to activate and inward center push to cancel. I can't wait to read of your first ride.

Took it for a little test ride on Saturday. Signal switch is similar to my CBRs so that wasn't any biggy but the one indicator light on the cluster/headlamp was very old school and a little annoying atm. This bike has 107k kilometres ( approx 70k miles), it only shows up to 99k then returns to zero. One advantage buying off the original owner is all the documents with service history.
