It is all put together now. 35 mile ride today.

WOW WOW WOW

Such power. It runs like an engine should and the sound-WOW One can not put in writing the feeling of a great running engine. One must experience it on something they are familiar with.

I was running about 45 mph and twisted the throttle wide open 90mph in about 2 seconds. The put put feeling is now gone.

Well worth all the trouble of doing this!!!!!!
Iwas expecting a one day to do it all--HA HA- 15 days and now it is complete.

If anyone wants to see this in person just pm me and let me know when and where-Then I can put a face with another goldwinger.

Well worth the effort tho, eh? :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

What year/years are c5's?
C5 is a brand new ignition. So far they are made to fit gl1000 and 1100. 1100 model will fit the 84 1200 but not later models.

Great!
I haven't put in freeway runs yet due to a dead battery. Maybe this weekend.

Official minimal install is to remove the rear tire and swingarm not removing the engine.
Is that correct?

On the 1100, yes.

We have a growing list of Japanese, Italian, British, and American motorcycle ignitions. Chevy and Dodge V8 kits are also available now, with Ford coming soon.

The GL1500 kits are done except coil mounts, and its taking a long time because we are testing a new coil that is shaped different. Our current set is not fitting in the 1500 very well so we are trying another shape. Right after that we'll tackle the '85 and newer GL1200.

There have been so many requests for custom kits (supercharged and NOS injected) for cycles, and I just did a VW race car install, seems people are starting to discover we arent afraid to try anything...lol

Also with MSD filing for bankruptcy last month there are many people afraid that replacement parts and warranties will not be available in the future. It opens people up to try new things...like a C5.

How is that working out for the carbs kits? :smilie_happy:

Seriously Paul, is the C5 for the 1100 the same for the 84 1200?

So the motor might not need to come out if all you want to do it pull the swingarm? Seems like a good time to grease up those bearings on a 30+ year old bike.

brian on a 84 1200 you will have to source a 1100 rear iggy housing ...for the 1100 to work ....I actually got a 84 1200 with stock 1100 iggy installed and running ...but that's probably not a hard thing to get

Carb kits? Are people still buying those?

Seriously, i was really upset this morning and called Dan to "talk me off the ledge".

First, in Wilcoys post on NGW instead of telling him what a great job he did installing his upgrades, he got picked on for showing a picture with his bent vacuum canister (damaged during engine removal).
Instead of ripping on people, why can't they just say "Wilcoy...awesome job! Tell us more, what would you do differently or can you share your experience". Is NGW really a forum????

Second, last night Wilcoy contacted me about a question an NGW member had. Our product page had been moved and a previous link to it was not working.

Thank you Wes and Dan both for telling me!
After I made a direct reply stating our main webpage was still the same, but i am not allowed to post our information on NGW, they removed my link and replaced it with dashes "-----------" so people could not find our web address.

It was stated that we need to be a paid sponsor to post our web address. I tried....and was told it was not in my best interest. I could post the entire conversation but I'm not going to.
What I will say, is I have never slammed Dyna, Boyer, Pertronix, Mallory, MSD, or any other ignition company. The NGW makes it quite clear they have a boner for Dyna products. Good for you!
Did Randakk get slammed this hard for making a better carb rebuild kit? God, I hope not.

All I want is enough sales to feed my family. I dont want a multi million dollar company, because I am never going to kiss someone's ass to be a "preferred supplier" for anything. If other companies are so freaking awesome, then why can't i get the cell phone number and personal email of the company president? When my THIRD Dyna melts down, can I call him at midnight like Wilcoy has done and ask technical questions? This is not a rant on Dyna. I have used them with great success. This is totally a rip on NGW and the scam they have telling people it's a forum.

No, a forum is about sharing information. A forum helps people, encourages the Wilcoy's of the world to go for it, and supports new ideas through experimentation (JoeDrum). THAT is what a forum is.
A forum acts like a family....sometimes disagreeing but always acting in the best interest of the family. I end my rant with this...Classic Goldwings is a REAL forum.

Sorry Wilcoy for stealing your thread. We now return to our regular programming

Still waiting on any report from C5 installations about fuel mileage usage.

Everyone rides their bike like a racer now, and can't give accurate readings :rtfm:
