In the video, at that drill speed I'd say you have to move in and out almost twice that fast. Almost about like shaking a martini. Or...slow the drill down some more.

Walk into Harbor Freight and see if they have anything similar to this.

This is a digital bore gauge with extensions to measure different size bores. Naturally, if you can find one with a dial insted of an LED it will be cheaper.
Measuring intruments can cost from a few dollars to up into the thousands, depending on what kind of acuracy you need. (You need the kind of acuracy Harbor Freight has)

:nea: 400rpm? Looks more like 1400 to me! Better git that thing calibrated! :smilie_happy:
You need to slow the drill down at least 1/2 of that speed in the 1st video....maybe the playback I was seeing was sped up somehow, but that thing sounded like it was ready to take off from Cape Canaveral! :Egyptian:

Question:

My runner has a lot of what I believe to be piston slap, evident as a bell (ding, ding) like sound for the first couple seconds on cold start up until oil pressure comes up.
I have a sound bite of it somewhere here but most of you have already heard it and know what I'm referring to.

What causes this??

Too much piston skirt to cylinder clearance?, not enough?

What checks/measurements do I need to take to eliminate this?
