No...it's NOT fair....
If it was fair, it'd be sunny and 75 degrees here! :crying: :crying:
:smilie_happy:

9 inches so far. A record for one day...and it's still snowin! :Awe: :Awe:
If it gets down below freezing, it's gonna be total fubar in the am. When I turned down my street coming home, the stuff in the street was deep enough to drag over the front bumper of the Cad!! I love traction control and ABS!!! :clapping:

:smilie_happy:
I'll throw something at em, but it won't be money!

Looks like our snow has moved on...finally. Little over 11 inches total at the house...whew!

I feel for youse guys up North! :|

You guys in the south may already know that we keep an eye on the trees and roof and shake the tree limbs using a rake or other extension to prevent limb breakage and for the roof reach up with a rake or hoe to pull snow off. Over the years I've secured a rope on the end of a rake and tossed it up and pulled the rope to remove snow when it gets 12''+... It works. Ya gotta keep after it

Here is a bit of snow humor a local talk radio host reads each year....
The Diary of a mad snow shoveler..

Thanks, Ray. We don't get enough of this kinda stuff to worry that much about it. I did have to go clean off an area so my dog could get in/out of his house! :good:

So...If you're tired of anemic, one-lung snowblowers with their slipping drive belts, you might consider Kai Grundt's V8 snow blower which raises the bar on the traditional snow blower in every respect. With electric start, electric block heater, antifreeze heater and eight cylinders, it has no drive belts to freeze up and you'll never get bored with the job as the 454 cubic inch big block Chevrolet V8 produces 412 horsepower, 430 foot pounds of torque and can throw snow 50 feet at just 3500 rpm.

Nor will you get cold as the machine has been ingeniously designed to route the engine coolant through the handle bars, with the rear mounted, enclosed radiator keeping the operator nice and cozy.

Maneuvering the massive beast (it has a total wet weight of 912 lbs) is a breeze thanks to the hydraulic-drive 4WD skid steer on independent walking beams which offers a zero turning radius. It's also as fast as you like, with an infinitely adjustable speed range on the drive wheels via dash mounted flow control. At the opposite end of the scale, it has more than enough torque to pull your car out of the ditch before the hydraulic motors stall!

Adding to the well-balanced feel of the unit, just 15 pounds of down force on the handlebars will lift the auger blade off the ground in order to climb stairs/walkways for ease of snow removal. Safety has and continues to be paramount with spring return to centre "fail safe" type directional controls with emergency stop and tether cords.

Safety is one of the key theme, with a flashing blue light (as required by law in many areas) being the least of the safety features. No-one will fail to hear you with those twin throaty exhausts, which come standard with 92 decibels at the controls, though if the rumble of a V8 exhaust is music to your ears, you can obviously go much louder. Even at the standard baffling, hearing protection is strongly suggested.

The powerful yard machine lights and a dashboard with backlit gauges complete the package to ease the burden of this normally reviled task. The custom 42 inch, two stage auger has a Chevrolet 10 bolt truck differential with spool and a centrifugal auger clutch with shear pin protection, further adding to the image of this "automotive theme blower." As each unit is cutom-built, optional extras for the snow blower are both diverse and outrageous as the base unit - there is unlimited auger choices from single to multi stage designs and various motor combinations to suit the religious preferences of the customer (Chevy, Dodge Hemi, Ford) and such exotica as a V-10 or a diesel engine or remote starting can be accommodated. And if, after a while, you feel you've outgrown the 400 horses, this particular engine is well catered for in the performance modification area, with Lunati camshaft, Milodon Gear drive, Holley and Edelbrock components to name a few, and there's always the fuel injection option too, if you feel you need to throw the snow out of the county or ensure your seat in the "neighborhood blower blingster hall of fame."

I'll tell you what. This whole week, Woody (my 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4x4) has been in the hospital. Replaced ECM, wires, plugs, rebuilt carbs, re-run vacumes + more. So I have had to dust off Melba. Yes All week I have been riding her round trip (50mi) to & from work. Yes, it has been cold. Thats when she reems to run the best. I can hardly hold her back. :music: If not for my frostbitten fingers I could do 200 miles. Anyway, about a month ago, my speedo was jumping around and making a terrible ruckus till the needle went dead and the noise stopped. Obviously the cable broke. I ordered a new one off of ebay and it is still doing the same thing. :head bang: So, as to not spend $17 more bucks on a new cable I just disconnected it at the guage and am now using my gps for a speedometer. why would this be happening? is it the "thingie" at the front shaft or is it the speedometer guage?

Soooooooo, whatcha think?

Could be speedo or drive at the wheel.

Without getting into removing the cable from the speedo because that's a pain, remove the cable at the wheel, pull the cable out of the jacket and put just the cable into the drive. Now spin the wheel. If the cable turns the problem is the speedo, if not it's a bad drive.

take some cotton balls and put in each fingertip of your gloves, it will eleminate the air gap between the glove and your finger and the cotton will help your finger tips stay warmer. lookin out the back or front i see snow but only about 6" fell monday and what has fallen the rest of the week has been just a dusting. maybe two to four inches by saturday

I took my cable loose at the wheel chucked a flat tip bit in it... pushed the bit into the wheel side cable and running in reverse I spun the cable to see if I had speed showing on my speedo.. that told me it was the wheel drive... a $6 stealership ordered part.. the one in the wheel was like an aluminium can.. the new one was definitely beefer when I made the transfer of the drive gear.... try spraying wd-40 into the speedo cable connection on the back of the sppedo.. mine would squal so loud it sounded like a siren or spaceship.. cleared when I sprayed the lube up in it...

Grrrrrrr..... Now, yesterday on my ride home, the RT side bag cover flew away. :Awe: Dont know why but it did and i didnt notice it till i was home. :sensored: I'll for sure look for it o my way home today but geez if i cant find it, where can you find just a top?

In the original post, How can the snow be so neatly built up on everything?
Check it out how square it is on the right table, and the cone shapes on the others :?:

Guess I been living in the warm country too long, this is new to me
