I thought the Chevy Volt was full and only electric but it's not.
It has a gas generator to recharge it.
On just electric it will go only 35 miles.
The Chevy site "says" you can run it for $1.50 per day, I'm guessing that's if you drive it no more than the 35 miles, they don't quite say.
If it does cost only $1.50 to drive 35 miles that would be like getting 70 miles per gallon at $3.00 per gallon.
Not bad IF that's all you drive because over that the mpg drops to 35-40 highway but I also wonder about the battery life.
If they are being drained and recharged 5 days a week, from what I understand about batteries is cycling like that will reduce it's life span.
I commend Chevy for trying but I think the Volt will be a flop.
