Best brand and weight is what you like best. As long as it's made for wet clutches. Most of the car oils now have mileage enhancer additives.

Most riders are happy with Rotella 15-40, chevron Delo is also good, like slab said stay away from friction modifiers that are in every oil except Heavy duty diesel oil, also motorcycle specific is good but more costly.
Bobs the oil guy forum has a cycle section with lots of information on what has worked for other riders, things like synthetic diesel rated ect.

 It helps to get rid of a slight clunk I in my transmission, but in the colder months the starter doesn't like the heavier oil...

Now if I could just find an oil that worked on loosening up that clunk that rides on the back seat with me. :smilie_happy:

15w40 might be a bit thick for your cold weather in MI. Should work great for temps above 60 degrees.

Good call I was thinking about that. I can run 15-40 in the summer and 10-40 in the fall. Good lookin out. I get 15-40 in bulk so I can change my oil for dang near cost of a filter in the summer, filter on ebay is like 7.00...

I run the 15-40 all Spring/Summer/Fall and then I also switch to 10-40 for the winter months. Napa's filter part # is PS4940 or just 4940... depends on which version they carry. Last time I bought some, I paid $5.50 a piece.

Yea I diddnt know that. I asked my local honda shop they wanted 15 for it smh.. thanks for the info
I usually ride over to rocky's in burton, mi. and pick up a few hi-flo oil filters. I could get a nappa or o' reileys filter but going to rocky's gets me out for a little ride. as for oil I use Castrol 4t 10w 40 or 20w 50 in all my bikes
