That sure looks like a great time!!! :yahoo:  :clapping:
+1
And they both sound great :good:

My first build was 1 1/4 but it felt sluggish. I know nothing about science of flow, but I surmised the smaller diameter would increase suction, 1 inch ran with much more zip, and throttle response it seems stronger and quicker. I use the bushing to go up in size for strength to hold its shape in the rubber boot
The reducer bushing has the same I.D. as 1 inch PVC....

Okay cool.

I'm thinking about building one like yours to compare to mine with homemade steel runners and the VW plenum. Cheap enough to do.
Maybe try using my PVC heater blanket and get the bends without using any fittings, just to see how well that works out and also use schedule 80 PVC.

PVC is super easy to heat and Bend, fill it up with sand to keep it from kinking.4

DKL PVC MANIFOLD GL1100 V2.0
I am still searching for the Holy Grail of PVC Manifolds,,,,,Cheap, Easy to Build, Functional, and reliable.
Here is a Video of my Quest, Sorry about the upside down Title---but it all depends on your Perspective.
The fittings used are: 3 each PVC 1" Sling Tees, 4 each 1" PVC Schedule 40 Street Elbows, 1 each 1" Nibco Schedule 80 Solid Socket Floor Flange, 4 each screw clamps, 2 ft 1" Schedule 40 Pipe, and 4 small pieces of metal pipe to fit inside 1" elbows, and 4 small sheet metal screws to secure inserts into the elbows. I use the VW 34-3 Carb.

Simplicity is the key to good design! :good: Nice way the mind keeps picking at an idea, :whistling: a job is always being picked apart & redone, in ones minds eye. :smilie_happy:

this isnt the single dating service LOL...seen that at ngw ...seems they just cant except ...good simple great running oldwing mod such as your method ...theres always a home here for DIY methods ...and yours is one of the best ..... :good:

Not to disagree with you Dan, :nea: but overthinking came up with this improvement on his already cheap, simple, & functional manifold. :smilie_happy:Gotta hand it to him :salute:

Finished MANIFOLD for yellow 82 GL1100 it is a little different. I used two 1" 22 degree elbows, no bending of PVC pipe is necessary.....Mock up fittings for MANIFOLD, put it on bike and clamp it in rubber boots,,mark it, take it off drill out the sling Tees, and glue it up....it aligns itself.....all 1" SCH 40 PVC, 3 each sling tees, 4 each 90 degree street elbows, 2 each 22 degree elbows, 1 each socket floor flange solid to mount carb,

this is very and say rathet ualtimate single barrel solex set up....looks to me the flow match to carb seems very good....in my opinion ...the only thing i see on solex carb set ups....is some of the air filter set ups seems small....and at higher rpm ...im thinking thete the first thing that dosnt flow enough and maybe cutd power....not the carb....but this is just opinion ...one day id like to work with one......nice nice work dkl.....superb set up....

Again, I love the simplicity?

With 2 cylinders being fed with 1 1" pipe ( or is it 1-1/4"), Curious how this build compares to the other running the same carb as far as running, idle speed and smoothness, plug color, high rpm.
