Excellent job :good:
I was wondering if your panniers are swapped around from left to right by the looks of the reflectors.

Will have to check. I put those reflectors on since the po had some lights on them and didn't care for the look it had.

Went wandering today. Issues I need to address:
Still have whining sound from front and pitch gets louder and faster the faster I go. There is also a smell of burning rubber from front . This has to be too tight of timing belts but why burnt rubber smell.
Also, rear shocks are bottoming out, need to be rebuilt.
Otherwise a nice wander today.

Not good,
you should pull the timing belt cover's and replace the idler/tensioner pullies and the belts again if they are damaged. Burning rubber smell can't be good but possibly could also be the rear tire is rubbing the swing arm or something against the exhaust.

GoldwingDoc's has a rebuild of them on their site. :read:

Yes, I found that. will try it.

1200,& 1500, use the same part. The bearing is supposed to be the same size on ALL models of wing's, if what i read is so. Do not know if chamfering the base will eliminate the need to grind the back of the tapered socket bolt, as have not dealt with that issue yet. :headscratch: But bought four bearing's, used two of them to rebuilt two old one's laying in the used part's bin. :good: Not needed yet, so have that part of the job left to do when needed. Important thing is, with less time than it takes to order & pick up new one's, this set will be done, with money left in my pocket!. :yahoo:

Okay, have the timing belt covers off and being a little lazy by leaving radiator on. Belts look in good shape however, there does appear to be some rubber dust present. Don't know what to do.
I did not notice this before but look on the farthest end of the yellow pencil, looks like a chip into the crank wheel or whatever it's called. Maybe that hitting the belt!

That washer also looks wavy like it's been bent. That washer keeps the belt on the pulley so I'd replace it with a good one.
Please elaborate on how I would do that. I remove the crankshaft bolt??

Yes, then the washer comes off.

Do this with the belts on?

Probably best remove the bolt with an impact wrench which will minimize rotation of the crankshaft.
Otherwise, try a socket with a long breaker bar and solid rap on the bar end to break it loose. Try not to let the crank turn in it's opposite direction as best you can.

I'm thinking on what might have caused that damage to the washer.
Pipe wrench? Maybe one was used to turn the crank instead of a socket on the bolt?
That washer should be smooth side toward the belts and the face of it smooth because the belt may touch/rub it in use.
