I'm stumped, took it apart, no water, rust, pitting, bore is smooth as babies butt, cups look perfect and are soft, nothing stopped up. Now why won't it pump fluid, remember, the reservoir was still half full of fluid when I tore it down. You can work the pedal full throw, rod works, just won't pump. Is there something in there that bypasses pressure other than the pressure diff valve you can't mess with? I don't know of anything. It won't work front or rear calipers. Got me confused.
i'm not clear if you are losing fluid?
nevertheless, you can certainly have a random internal problem whether there is an external leak or not,
had that one time with a nicked O ring, brakes were completely normal, no leaks but every once in awhile went soft and to the floor
