I was thinking modular and fond one I REALLY liked, until I started looking at the price tags. I stopped looking at modular's and started looking at full face's until I found this one.

I try to stay away from intercom capable things... That would just give her another way to yell at me :)

The intercom reduced my headaches...... (slapping of the back of the helmet) :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

Brian, any report to date how the helmet has worked out? Anti-fog still working?

I'm looking to replace my 3/4 helmet for the Florida trip (plus it is time to replace them anyway Over 8 years old).

I didn't get to use it much in cold weather since I haven't ridden this past winter. Last winter though when riding I did find that the tinted shield fogged up really quickly where as the clear shield stayed fog free. I rode from my sons college to my home (206 miles) and found that the clear shield did build up a little moisture after some time. Comfort is not a problem and the cooling vents work really well - even in July in the South.

By far the best helmet I have owned to date.

I use Turtle Wax to clean my helmet and visor and that seems to make a big difference with reducing the amount of fogging as well as having nice clear vision. I will say that riding down the dreaded driveway at relatively slow speed that I need to control my breathing or open up the visor otherwise it fogs up badly. Once riding with helmet vents open and less panting visor is fog free :good:

An old nasty anti-fog solution for shield's, goggles, scuba mask, etc: Clean with your saliva. It works.

I installed a pinlock visor insert in my SyMax 3 and it has been pretty amazing for two years now. I ride pretty much year-round on the GL1800 with heated gloves and jacket liner. Even in torrential rain (summertime) my vision stays clear. Only when starting out with a cold helmet will I need to crack the visor a bit until the insert warms a bit.

I want to remind everyone that this helmet has both a clear shield and a retractable tinted shield. The clear has given me no problems. Only the tinted shield fogs in the colder weather.
